The Stadtpark bridge carries a combined pedestrian and cycle route across the watercourse in the town park of Doberlug-Kirchhain, Brandenburg. The client was the town administration.
The superstructure is a fully welded aluminium truss with a coated finish: 12.36 m long, 2.0 m of clear width between the railings, 2.2 tonnes in weight, designed for an imposed load of 5 kN/m² — the crowd loading that applies to public footbridges across Europe.
Low self-weight is what makes the site programme work. The whole span arrived as one welded unit and a mobile crane set it on the new concrete abutments in a single lift, with no assembly over the water. That sequence is the point of a prefabricated pedestrian bridge: the work that would otherwise happen above a watercourse happens in the factory instead.
The bridge was delivered in July 2026 as serial number 016. It is CE marked under EN 1090-3, certificate 2268-CPR-434 — the number a procurement officer can verify with the notified body before award.
