Every structure leaves the works CE marked. Behind that mark are three factory production control certificates, all issued by Kiwa Inspecta — notified body 2268 — under the Construction Products Regulation 305/2011/EU, system 2+. Each is open-ended: it stays valid as long as the technical specification holds and the factory production control keeps meeting it.

Eurocode 9 is applied, not certified
The third badge in our header is Eurocode 9 — EN 1999, the European design standard for aluminium structures. It is not a certificate and no one issues one for it: it is the code the structure is calculated to. Structural calculations to Eurocode 9 go out with every quotation, together with the declaration of performance and the CE marking documentation. Our note on what Eurocode 9 covers explains what it governs and where it differs from the steel codes.
How to verify these before award
The certificate number and the notified body number are all a procurement officer needs. Kiwa publishes the validity of every certificate it issues at kiwa.com, and the notified body number 2268 can be checked in the European Commission NANDO database. Our note on how to check an EN 1090 certificate walks through the steps; what EN 1090 covers explains what the execution class actually changes in the workshop.
